Welcome to my series Discover The Triangle!!! In this series, I’m introducing you to my favorite towns in the triangle. Today I want to invite you to discover the town of Apex.
I fell in love with Apex when I moved her in 2003. This town has so much charm and so many things to offer it is very easy to want to call Apex home!
Watch the video to discover all the wonderful things Apex has to offer.
With its community-focused amenities and convenience to Raleigh and Research Triangle Park, Apex certainly lives up to its motto, “the peak of good living.”
This town has topped lists of the best places to live for years; Money Magazine named it the #1 Best Place to Live in America in 2015. These rankings come as no surprise to residents of Apex, who are familiar with the town’s hometown way of life.
There’s Always Something to Celebrate
Downtown Apex has had a tremendous revitalization that has brought along with it fabulous dining like Peak City Grill, The Blisterd Pig and dozens of shops for lovely antiques and trendy stores for the chicest of ladies. Downtown Apex hosts about one festival a month, and there are even more events happening throughout the town on any given weekend.
As heritage is important to Apex residents, cultural activities are the most popular, from Apex Founders Day in March to the Apex Latino Arts Festival in June.
When Apex was named #1 Best Place to Live in 2015, the town celebrated with Peak-a-Palooza. Other popular events you don’t want to miss include Peakfest, Peak City Pig Fest, and Christmas On Salem Street.
Or you can spend a Day at the Lake.
If you want to spend a day at the beach but don’t want to drive more than an hour, head to Jordan Lake in Apex. This reservoir encompasses 14,000 acres and is located right off of US-64, about 15 minutes from Downtown Apex. Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking are among the many popular activities at the lake, which offers more than 1,000 campsites, 14 miles of hiking trails, and several beaches. If you happen to be at the lake on the first Saturday in October, you don’t want to miss Heritage Day.
As you can see, Apex is a great place to call home. There is so much more I can say about this town, but the best way to get to know Apex is to see it for yourself.
