It’s hard to keep New Year’s resolutions. In fact, only about 8% of people actually stick with them, so don’t feel bad if you haven’t yet been able to achieve your goal to lose weight, get in shape, or eat healthier. The good news is that even though it’s the end of January, it’s never too late for a fresh start.
If you’re buying another home in the Triangle soon, now’s the perfect time to kickstart your fitness goals. There are plenty of neighborhoods in the Triangle that are close to gyms — just pick one and you’ll be on your way to a happier, healthier you! Here’s a list of great Raleigh-area communities that are close to several fitness centers.
Brookhaven in Raleigh
Brookhaven is one of Raleigh’s most prestigious neighborhoods located just a stone’s throw from Crabtree Valley Mall. A new enclave, Brookhaven Estates, extends this community north along Creedmoor Road from Glenwood Avenue to Lynn Road.
Scarboro Farms in Wendell
This new neighborhood is nestled on a private road in Wendell just seconds from East Wake High School and US-64. If you’re eager to exercise outdoors, all you have to do is drive a few minutes to Robertson Millpond Preserve, where you can hike, canoe, or kayak in this 85-acre oasis.
Budleigh in Raleigh
Budleigh is a charming neighborhood tucked inside the beltline in Raleigh. It’s a great place to live if you love the outdoors — Banbury Park is close by, and Umstead State Park is just minutes away. Of course, this ITB neighborhood is also close to several yoga studios and gyms.
